DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a man in Ballymena, Co. Antrim this week have made a third arrest.
Victor Hamilton, 63, was found dead in the driveway of his home on Orkney Drive at around 07.50am on Wednesday, July 27.
In the early hours of this morning, Sunday, July 31, a 33-year-old man was arrested in the Portadown area on suspicion of murder.
He remains in police custody at this time.
A 29-year-old man, arrested in the Spring Meadows area of Armagh on Thursday, July 28, and a 23-year-old woman, arrested in the Belfast area on Friday, July 29, also remain in custody.
Following Mr Hamilton's death, Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Noel Williams, expressed his condolences.
"I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of Victor Hamilton in Ballymena," said Mayor Williams.
"My thoughts are with his family and friends, and I wish everyone connected with Victor strength and comfort at this difficult time.
"I appeal for anybody with any information regarding this sad loss of life to contact the PSNI."
Detectives are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist them with their enquiries to call 101 and quote reference number 273 of 27/07/22.
