JEDWARD have hit out against the Catholic Church, branding the institute "the main cause" of the world's homophobia.
It comes following news of the Vatican's ruling that the Church cannot bless same-sex marriages, ultimately because they "cannot bless sin".
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) was responding to calls from some parishes to allow the blessing of same-sex unions, but ruled that the Church does not have the power to do so.
They said that while God and the Church "loves every person," homosexuality remains a sin as it "does not follow the plan of the Creator.
The Catholic Church is the main cause of homophobia! It’s time they remove their sinful teachings from our schools and Life! You don’t own God! 🙏🏼@Pontifex we cannot bless you pic.twitter.com/gIuiUjJbAT

Jedward, the Irish identical twin duo who rose to prominence during the 2009 edition of X Factor, took to social media immediately after the announcement, suggesting that the Church's teachings be removed from schools and everyday life.
"The Catholic Church is the main cause of homophobia! It's time they remove their sinful teachings from our schools and Life!" They wrote on Twitter, before adding that the Church does not "own God" and tagging Pope Francis himself in the post.

It isn't the first time Jedward have spoken out about social issues recently.
On Monday, they tweeted about how the statue of Winston Churchill, which was defended by London police officers during the recent protests about Sarah Everard's murder, "has no place in today's society".
Get that Winston Churchill statue and fuck it into Piers Morgan’s back garden it has no place in today’s society!
