POLICE in the US state of Utah have warned against taking the Bird Box challenge after a teenager attempted it while driving – before crashing her car.
Layton Police Department tweeted pictures on Friday of the aftermath of the incident, commenting ‘predictable result’.
It follows a warning from Netflix urging people not to take the challenge, which sees people trying to navigate their surroundings blindfolded as the characters do in the film.
Clearly one teenager in Utah wasn’t paying attention and went one further.

In an interview with local station KSL, Lieutenant Travis Lyman of Layton Police said he never thought he’d have to warn people not to drive blindfolded.
“It’s just inexcusable to do something as dangerous as this,” Lieutenant Lyman told KSL, reports Newsweek.
He explained that the driver pulled a beanie hat over her eyes while driving.
She then lost control before skidding into the opposite lane and hitting another car and a streetlamp.
Neither the 17-year-old driver, her 16-year-old passenger or the person in the other car was hurt.
Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock, has been a major hit for Netflix.
The horror movie depicts a world where an ominous unseen presence has driven million to suicide, forcing survivors to keep their eyes covered.
