Teenager charged with murder of Irish dancer Adrian Murphy in London last year

AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with the murder of Irish dancer Adrian Murphy in London last June.

Diana Cristea, of Barnet, has also been charged with the poisoning of another man in the English capital last year.

The body of Adrian Murphy, 43, was found at a block of flats in Lombard Road, Battersea, London, on June 4, 2019.

Ms Cristea stands accused of his murder and is also facing charges related to the poisoning of a 40-year-old man in Walthamstow, on May 30 of the same year.

The 40-year-old male victim was allegedly drugged by someone he met on a social networking site and later invited to his flat.

A seven-time Irish dancing champion, Mr Murphy originally hailed from Kilkenny and had carved out a career as a professional dancer, choreographer and producer in London.

His work included choreography on Irish dancing shows such as Feet of Fire and Firedance.

Ms Cristea is due in court this week and has been charged with one count of murder, one count of poisoning, two counts of theft, and two counts of fraud by false representation.

Joel Osei, who was previously arrested alongside Ms Cristea in connection with the two incidents, has been charged with two counts of poisoning, two counts of theft, and six counts of fraud by false representation.

He was also charged with Mr Murphy's murder last month and will next appear at the Old Bailey on 17 February.
