A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with the murder of Anastasia Kriegel in Dublin last week.
The young girl was found beaten to death at a disused building in the Dublin suburb of Lucan, three days after her family reported her missing.
This morning, gardaí confirmed that two teenage boys were arrested yesterday, and were being held at two separate Dublin Garda Stations.
One of the teenagers has now been charged in connection with the investigation and is due in court this evening.
The second teenager remains in custody.
A post-mortem examination carried out following the discovery of the body revealed that the teenager died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
Investigators found her clothing near her body and removed a number of bloodstained bricks and sticks from the vacant farmhouse.
It is believed there was a sexual element to the crime.
Gardaí have been studying DNA evidence and CCTV footage from the area as part of their investigation in recent days.
Gardaí have also warned people in the area not to take matters into their own hands amid fears of vigilante attacks.
A fundraising page set up to support her family has raised more than €5,000 so far.
