GARDAÍ have arrested a convicted teenage sex attacker wanted by British authorities at Dublin Airport.
Pakistani national Mian Mujahid Ali Shahid, 19, was arrested on Monday at 10.40pm as he boarded a flight to Dubai.
He is detained at Clontarf Garda Station and is expected to appear before a special sitting of the High Court later today.
Gardaí were assisting British police in their hunt for Al Shahid, and had received a European Arrest Warrant.
He had last been seen in the Foynes area of Limerick on August 11 after travelling to Ireland from Scotland this year.
Gardaí issued a public appeal to track him down last Thursday.
Ali Shahid has been convicted of a sexual assault on an 18-year-old woman.
He was convicted in his absence at Stafford Crown Court in April and later sentenced in his absence to 30 months in jail.
