THE IRISH TEENAGER who died after a fall from a tractor last weekend has been named.
Patrick McCormack, 15, died after he fell from a tractor on a farm near Bouleglass in Newtown, in Tipperary on Sunday afternoon, January 21.
The young man, from Ryninch in Ballina in Co Tipperary, was a Junior Cert student in St Anne's Community College, Killaloe.
In a statement, the East Clare Farmers Drag Hunt who the young Irishman would ride with said: "It is with great sadness that we inform you of the accidental death today of Patrick McCormack, Ryninch, Ballina. A member and friend of the East Clare Farmers Drag Hunt.
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. He will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace."
His local GAA club, Ballina GAA, for whom he played hurling and football with in Tipperary said: "We learned yesterday evening of the untimely passing of Patrick Mc Cormack.
"While Patrick's first love was for horses, he was a member of Ballina GAA club and played hurling and football at under age level level with us.
"He and his family are part of our GAA family and we, along with the rest of the community are devastated.
"This is a terrible tragedy for his family, our club, his team mates and our community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
"Our sympathy and thoughts are with John, Fiona, Emer, Mary, his grandmother Mary, his extended family, friends, class and team mates."
Patrick McCormack will be laid to rest tomorrow afternoon following midday mass at Church of Our Lady and St. Lua's in Ballina Co Tipperary.
