POLICE in both the Republic and the North of Ireland are on high alert as a suspected rapist from Britain may be in the country.
Ryan Humpage, from Blackpool, is wanted by police in Lancashire, after being charged with the rape of a 13-year-old girl in the area.
It is understood that 18-year-old, described as “dangerous”, breached the conditions of his bail and has been spotted in Ireland in recent weeks.
Gardaí have established that Mr Humpage travelled to Co. Kildare last week and there have also been reported sightings in Co. Sligo.
The suspect is known for using alternative names, which include Dylan Dunne, Ryan Willington, Ryan Williams and Karl Ward.
It is also believed that Mr Humpage has acquaintances in Belfast, Scotland and several parts of England – with PSNI officers also on high alert in the North of Ireland.
