SINN FEIN has confirmed a ‘suspect device’ was recovered from outside one of the party’s constituency offices in Belfast.
The device was left outside an office on Sevastopol Street in West Belfast, at some point in the early hours of Monday, August 10.
PSNI officers have attended the scene while a section of the Falls Road was closed off while the situation was dealt with.
The incident has been condemned by Sinn Féin politicians, coming just a month after a hoax device was uncovered outside a premises linked to the party on Andersontown Road.
Commenting on the discovery, Sinn Fein MP Paul Maskey described the attacks as “futile” adding that “Sinn Féin will not be deterred”.
“In particular, the office been at the heart of work in recent months to support the local community throughout the Cvoid-19 pandemic,” Maskey said.
“This attack follows on from another incident at Connolly House constituency office two weeks ago.”
Maskey also sent a clear message of defiance to those behind the device discovered.
“Those responsible for these futile attacks have no support in our community,” he said.
“Sinn Féin will not be deterred. We will continue to work to deliver for constituents and to build a just, equal and united Ireland.”
