Sunrises in Irish counties amongst the most popular in the world

SUNRISES in two Irish counties have been voted amongst the most popular in the world.

In a study of how many times the hashtags #sunrise and #sunset were used on social media platform Instagram, On the Go tours pooled the top 10 places to capture beautiful sunrises.

While it's no surprise that the top spot goes to New York, both Cork and Dublin feature in the top 10 at number five and and eight respectively alongside Berlin, Chicago, Munich, Amsterdam, Denpasar, Paris and Singapore.

According to On The Go, the best place to watch sunrise in Dublin? "To watch the sunrise during a casual dawn stroll, head to Howth Pier to take in the fresh ocean air before the town wakes up."
