CELTIC fans are used to the smell of success, but this season supporters have been subjected to a more unsavoury odour.
Some season ticket holders reportedly received a letter from the club that reminded them to maintain an acceptable level of personal hygiene when attending games.
The well-intentioned letter was allegedly prompted by complaints from fans about one supporter’s pungent body odour.
John Paul Taylor, Celtic’s supporter liaison officer, reportedly sent the letter, which said the smell was impacting on the matchday experience of other fans.
He confirmed the existence of the letter in a tweet – since deleted – which read: “I can exclusively reveal its genuine, dispatched at the request of incumbents within the locale.”
While supporters of Scottish second tier outfit Rangers were quick to poke fun at their Premier League rivals across the city, some football fans on Twitter praised the Scottish champions and their fans for taking action.
In all seriousness. I'm happy Celtic wrote the letter and hopefully it shamed the culprit into washing.

To be fair that story about smelly Celtic fans good on the club trying to ban them can't be healthy for either him or people around him

No doubt Celtic would have preferred to have kept this controversial letter under wraps.
Perhaps they should have sought the advice of Rangers, whose Oldco issued side-letters detailing contractual payments to players, which the club failed to disclose to Scotland’s footballing authorities in contravention of SFA and SPL rules…
