SIX people have been taken to hospital after a car struck a number of pedestrians in the Irish capital, gardaí have confirmed.
The Irish Times is reporting there is 'particular concern' for two pedestrians who took the brunt of the impact.
An area around Earlsfort Terrace and Adelaide Road has been sealed off after a car crashed and overturned at around 6.16pm this evening, August 22.
Gardaí stressed the incident was not a hit and run and are asking people to avoid the area.
Dublin Fire Brigade described the crash as a major incident. Four fire engines and five ambulances were at the scene.
AA Roadwatch said that Adelaide Road was closed as emergency services ‘deal with a serious crash’.
They advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.
