Gypsum Mine in the Magheracloone area of County Monaghan collapsed earlier today, leaving a giant sinkhole in the ground.
Images shared online show a massive hole in the local GAA ground and forced pupils of nearby Drumgossatt National School to go home early.
Children were evacuated from the school as the movement in ground caused damage to both the school building and GAA grounds.
No one was hurt in the incident.
