Sinéad O'Connor announces brand new album ‘No Veteran Dies Alone’

SINÉAD O'CONNOR has announced she'll be releasing a new album next year, titled 'No Veteran Dies Alone'.

The album, which will be O'Connor's 11th, will go on sale in January 2022.

The Irish singer-songwriter teased the album back in December, revealing that its undisclosed cover art was designed by Donegal illustrator Jacob Stack.

O'Connor - who has changed her birth name to Shuhada Sadaqat - told The New York Times that the album will comprise of seven songs.

The album news comes after the 54-year-old recently admitted to having mixed feelings about the prospect of retirement.

Sinéad is torn between not wanting to disappoint her fans and wanting what's best for herself and her own happiness.

She said: "Part of me really wants to retire and the other half, if I'm honest, just doesn't want to let people down. But you know, that's why Amy Winehouse is dead."

Elsewhere, the Nothing Compares 2 U star has released her personal memoir, Rememberings.

In the piece, O'Connor tells her story - the heartache of growing up in a family falling apart; her early forays into the Dublin music scene; her adventures and misadventures in the world of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll; the fulfilment of being a mother; her ongoing spiritual quest - and through it all, her abiding passion for music.
