'She is not one bit street smart': Heartbroken family of missing girl issue fresh appeal for information

THE FAMILY of a teenage girl who has been missing for nine days have issued a fresh appeal for help.

16-year-old Alex Sugrue was last seen at around 9am on Saturday, 5 September when she left her home in the coastal town of Ballybunion, County Kerry.

Last week, Gardaí and Alex's family issued an appeal for help in finding the teenager, but over a week later  there has still been no sign of Alex.

Her aunt, Yvonne, yesterday took to Facebook where she pleaded with the public to keep an eye out for her niece, admitting the family were "very worried" for her safety.

"God help us she is not one bit street smart," her heartbroken aunt wrote.

"We are very worried, and we just want her home."

Alex Sugrue is described as being approximately 5'1" in height, of slim build, with green eyes and blonde, shoulder length hair.
