A FIVE-part 1916 inspired drama will air next year on RTÉ to commemorate the centenary of the Easter Rising.
Generation will follow the story of the Rising through the eyes of a Dublin family.
The series Casting Director Maureen Hughes (Love/ Hate, Charlie) will cast the series.
"The series focuses on the city from the outside," Ms Hughes said. "It focuses on people who live just outside the city. It is told through their optics and their perspective."
It will go into production this May and will be broadcast on RTÉ One in 2016.
Meanwhile, a new RTÉ Player International service is due to be announced in the coming months, offering the best of RTÉ’s programming to audiences worldwide.
RTÉ’s new digital platform will target viewers in Britain and across the world.
