AN IRISH city has been ranked amongst the most expensive cities in the world to buy cannabis.
According to Seedo Cannabis Price Index for 2018, released this morning, Dublin is the sixth most expensive city in the world to buy cannabis.
While the drug is illegal in Ireland, according to the index, a gram of cannabis in Dublin costs almost $22, or almost €18.
The Irish capital is beaten only by Bangkok in Thailand at almost $25, or €20, Hong Kong at $27 or €22, Kyoto in Japan at almost $30 or €24, Seoul in South Korea at $32 or almost €26.
The most expensive was Tokyo in Japan at almost at $33 or €27.
After Dublin, Talinn, Shanghai, Beijing and Oslo were all ranked at around €16 per gram.
The cheapest cities in which to buy cannabis per gram included Quito in Ecuador at €1, and Bogota in Colombia and Asuncion in Paraguay at €2.
Jakarta in Indonesia, Panama City, Johannesburg in South Africa, Montevideo in Uruguay, Astana in Kazakhstan, Antwerp in Belgium, and New Delhi in India all ranked at €3.
