Renewed appeal for information after gardaí identify body found in Dublin canal

GARDAÍ are renewing their appeal for witnesses following the discovery of a man's body in a canal in Dublin at the weekend.

The body was found in the Grand Canal at Coolscuddan, Newcastle, Co. Dublin on Saturday morning, March 8.

Investigators revealed today that the man, aged in his 20s, has since been identified.

Gardaí today thanked the public for their assistance to date but are continuing to appeal for information.

Anyone who was in the area of the Grand Canal between the 12th Lock, Lucan and Hazelhatch Bridge, Co. Dublin between Thursday, March 6 and Saturday, March 8 is urged to come forward.

Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, are asked to make it available to gardaí.
