MET EIREANN has forecasted that rain will fall on Ireland this week after weeks of drought.
The country has been experiencing a heatwave for the last few weeks, and while the sunny weather is set to continue, heavy showers are also on the horizon for much of the country.
There's no need to drag in the garden furniture just yet. The rainfall isn't expected to arrive until Wednesday, meaning the next two days will stay dry and bright with top temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees.
The rain will begin at 5am on Wednesday morning and largely subside by Thursday.
Met Éireann has provided diagrams of the rainfall on their website.
Parts of the midlands and north west could see anywhere between 3 and 6 millimetres of rain.
There will also be some light spots of rain throughout the country on Friday, but nothing too major — mostly drizzles of beneath 2 millimetres per hour in the afternoon and evening.
Farmers rejoice!
