THE PSNI have appealed for information after a man was shot dead in front of his partner and an 11-year-old child in Belfast.
Ray Johnston, 28, was killed with a shotgun at his house on Glenbawn Avenue in Poleglass, West Belfast at around 8pm on Tuesday 13th February.
Detectives since launched a murder investigation and are seeking a “man in a blue coat” in connection with the incident.
According to Belfast Telegraph, the investigation has continued in the form of a series of raids on houses in the area.
Searches were conducted on Saturday in the areas of Poleglass, in the west of Belfast followed by a raid in the New Lodge Road area in the north of Belfast.
It has emerged that items were taken from both residences as they were deemed as being suspcious.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said the police would continue to search for evidence relating to the murder: "Police are continuing to appeal for information about the movements of Mr Johnston on the day of the murder and a dark-coloured car that was seen in the area around the time of the incident.
They also asked for anyone with any knowledge relating to the crime to come forward: "Anyone with information that could help the investigation should contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1192 of 13/2/18 or ask to speak to detectives at the incident room in Musgrave.
"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
