IRISH President Michael D. Higgins will attend a concert celebrating the best of Irish and British music, spoken word and dance during his state visit to Britain in April.
He will be guest of honour at the event, Ceiliúradh (celebration), at the Royal Albert Hall on April 10.
It is one of a number of engagements he will attend during his three-day visit, which will begin two days earlier on April 8.
President Higgins will become the first Irish head of state to make a State visit to Britain, after accepting an invitation from the Queen last year.
In May 2011, the Queen became the first British monarch to visit the Republic of Ireland.
The concert at the Royal Albert Hall will feature both world-renowned and emerging artists from Ireland and the UK.
As previously reported, the evening will be comprised of music, spoken word and dance.
Tickets for the event will be made available to the public from 9am this Friday (February 28) through the Royal Albert Hall Box Office and will cost £10.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Irish Youth Foundation (UK) to be used in support of Irish cultural projects in Britain.
