Poll shows Gerry Adams is Ireland's most popular party leader

GERRY ADAMS is now the most popular political party leader in Ireland according to a poll published in the Irish Times.

His party, Sinn Féin, has continued to surge in the polls with results showing it is now twice as popular as Labour.

The Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll also found that satisfaction with Irish Government parties has decreased.

The poll found support for Fine Gael is at 24 per cent (down 1) with Sinn Féin at 21 (up 3). Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil remained as Ireland's most popular party with 26 per cent (no change) and Labour is in fourth place at 9 per cent (down 1).

The Green Party is at 2 per cent (up 1) and Independents/Others are at 18 per cent (down 2).

The poll also found that Gerry Adams is Ireland's most popular leader, with 33 per cent saying they are satisfied with his performance, an increase of six points.
