POLICE in Antrim are appealing for information after separate petrol bomb attacks on homes in the early hours of Saturday.
The first incident occurred at around 12,40am at a house in the Prospect Park area of Carrickfergus.
BBC News NI reports that a couple and their child were inside the house during the attack but were not injured.
"At approximately 12.40am, we received a report that a petrol bomb had been thrown at the property, smashing the living room window and also causing damage to the living room," said Detective Sergeant Crothers.
"No one was injured during the incident and the item was taken away from the scene for further examination."
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 61 of July 16, 2022.
The second, unrelated attacked occurred almost two hours later in the Glendun Close area of Portrush.
"At approximately 2.30am, officers along with colleagues from the NIFRS attended the scene, following a report that petrol bombs had been thrown at the property," said Detective Sergeant Colhoun.
"No one was injured during the incident, however scorch damage was caused to the front of the house and the main door.
"I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist with our enquiries, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 210 of 16/17/22."
The occupant, believed to be a woman, was not harmed in the incident.
Meanwhile, an arson attack took place at a vehicle repair centre in Mallusk, Co, Antrim, on Friday evening.
A fire was started in a car parked in the yard of the premises at around 8pm.
The blaze spread, leaving a total of seven vehicles badly damaged or destroyed.
A red motorcycle with two people on board was seen in the area at the time of the incident.
