Police hunt man with Irish accent over robbery in Manchester

POLICE in Manchester are searching for a man 'with an Irish accent' in connection with a robbery at a convenience store in the early hours of the bank holiday Monday.

Two men wearing balaclavas entered the One Stop Shop on Moston Lane in Manchester at 6.45am on Monday, August 31.

They pushed two staff members who were opening the shop into the store and demanded that they open the safe.

The men then fled from the shop with cash and cigarettes.

One of the men wanted by police in connection with the robbery is described as white, 5ft 3in tall, of small build, and was wearing green tracksuit bottoms and black Adidas trainers.

He spoke with an Irish accent.

Another man is described as white, about 5ft 6in tall, of medium build and spoke with a local accent.

He was wearing a blue hoody and a black balaclava.

Police Constable Claire Johnson of North Manchester division said: “This robbery left the staff members very shook up and we want to catch the offenders as soon as possible, before they target anyone else.”
