Police appealing for witnesses following arson in Ulster

PSNI are investigating following a fire breaking out in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A wheelie bin was set on fire and spread to the back door of a residence in Fern Park in Co. Derry.

According to Belfast Telegraph, the fire occurred at 2 am and caused significant damage to the property in question.

Luckily, the sole occupant of the house was not harmed.

A spokesperson for the PSNI have said an investigation was launched into the incident: "Police are treating this as arson and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Strand Road on 101 quoting reference 144 07/04/18."
