Pierce Brosnan recalls time he saved Halle Berry's life during James Bond love scene

PIERCE BROSNAN is a man of many skills.

Actor, environmentalist, activist, film producer and singer.

Okay, maybe not so much singer.

But there’s one more skill the Drogheda-born star might want to think about adding to his already impressive resume – life saver.

As James Bond, he was the man with the License to Kill but as Brosnan he was the exact opposite as co-star Halle Berry recently recalled.

Berry starred alongside the Irishman in 2002’s Die Another Die.

It proved a particularly apt title too after Brosnan ended up saving Berry from choking on the set of the film and during what she recalls was a particularly steamy love scene.

According to Berry, Brosnan performed the Heimlich manoeuvre on her when she started choking during the scene.

It’s an incident Brosnan was asked to recall during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and one he remained suitably modest about.

He told Fallon: "I vaguely remember it, I've seen little quotes in the press recently. We were on the set, I'm not quite sure what I did, I might have Heimliched her, I'm not sure."

Brosnan, laughing, added: "I just patted her on the back."

Berry told an altogether different, more heroic story when she was interviewed by Fallon back in April.

According to the Oscar-winner, the Irishman swooped in to the rescue after she got a fig stuck in her throat.

She said: "I was supposed to be all sexy, trying to seduce him with a fig. I end up choking on it and he had to get up and do the Heimlich. So not sexy."

Berry added: "James Bond knows how to Heimlich! He was there for me, he will always be one of my favourite people in the whole world."
