Pierce Brosnan attempts to bring 10-inch hunting knife through US airport security

IRISH ACTOR Pierce Brosnan had a run in with US airport security staff  when he attempted to carry a 10-inch hunting knife onto his flight.

The actor was catching a flight at Burlington Airport in Vermont with his 14-year-old son Paris when the hunting knife was discovered by security.

Pictures by INFphoto.com sold exclusively to The Daily Mail show Brosnan going through security, removing his belt then being taken aside by Transport Security Authorisation(TSA) staff.

The prohibited knife, which measured 10 inches when extended, was in Brosnan's carry-on luggage.

According to The Daily Mail, a 'frustrated' Brosnan was screened in a private area following the discovery of the weapon.

After electing to have the knife transferred to his checked luggage, Brosnan and his son were allowed to proceed through to Departures.

The actor is originally from Co.Navan and had his career breakthrough in the 1980's with the hit show Remington Steele.

He went on to become the first (and only) Irishman to play secret agent 007 in the James Bond movies GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day
