PRINCE HARRY and Meghan Markle visited Croke Park and Dublin’s Famine Memorial during the second day of their visit to Ireland.
They were just two of the items on the itinerary during a busy day in the Irish capital, which started at Áras an Uachtaráin for a meeting with President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina.
There they rang the Peace Bell, which was installed in 2008 to mark the tenth anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.
The royal couple then sampled Ireland’s rich sporting and cultural heritage with visits to GAA Headquarters and the library at Trinity College Dublin.
At Croker, they met young GAA stars as well as officials involved in community outreach programmes, while at TCD they examined a facsimile of the Book of Kells.
Harry and Meghan then paid a visit to the Famine Memorial at Custom House Quay, where they met sculptor Rowan Gillespie.
After a visit to EPIC, the Irish emigration museum, the day concluded with a trip to Dogpatch labs in the Docklands, where they met young entrepreneurs and young people participating in the coder dojo programme.
