THE MAN was saved from the waters from Dublin Fire Brigade, it has emerged.
The man was rescued from the river in Dublin's city centre at Heuston Station.
It is not known how the man entered the river, but staff from Dublin Fire Brigade from stations including Phibsborough, Tara Street and Dolphin's Barn attended to aid the rescue.
The fire brigade confirmed the news on Twitter: 'One person has been taken from the Liffey by our rescue boat. Firefighters from Dolphin's Barn, Tara St and Phibsborough stations attended.'

Spectators to the incident said the victim looked 'distressed'.
Just happened upon the distressing sight of some poor divil (alive, but clearly in a bad state) being fished out of the river Liffey at Heuston Station Bridge. More than a dozen ambulance crew and fire brigade men working to get him out of the water. Hope he gets looked after.

The condition of the man is not yet known.
