ONE PERSON has been seriously injured while three people have been arrested after a garda pursuit on an Irish motorway.
The incident happened this afternoon on the N7 northbound between junctions 7 and 8 at Johnstown and Kill.
It is understood a car was being followed by gardaí which crashed into another vehicle.
One man was seriously injured in the collision and taken to Naas General Hospital.
The three people, two young men and one young woman all in their teens, have been arrested by gardaí after the incident.
The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has confirmed that it is investigating the road incident in which a man was seriously injured.
Gardaí involved were in an unmarked vehicle patrolling as part of Operation Thor which targets rural burglaries.
Emergency services, including Dublin Fire Brigade and the ambulance service, are at the scene and traffic is being diverted.
