GARDAÍ are in attendance of a 'serious incident' in an Irish town as one person has died and two people injured in a stabbing.
The incident happened this morning at 9am on Avenue Road in Dundalk, Co Louth.
Gardaí said they are at a scene of serious incident on Avenue Road in Dundalk, Co Louth and 'it is a live operation.'
Gardaí were called to the scene, and one man has been arrested and is being detained at Dundalk Garda Station.
Four patrol cars and ambulances as well as armed gardaí are understood to be in attendence.
According to the Dundalk Democrat, a garda at the scene said they are in the 'early stages of an investigation” and that it's “too early to comment further” on the nature of the incident.
“It will be another hour or two before we can say more. It's too early to say,” they said.
