AN Irish woman in her 70s has had to go to hospital with injuries she sustained in a robbery on Friday evening.
The victim was waiting at a bus stop in Sandymount, Co. Dublin when the incident occurred.
According to The Irish Times, the woman was attacked by the thief who was trying to acquire her handbag. The woman was injured in multiple places during the incident and was taken to a hospital.
Officials at the nearby St Vincents Hospital have confirmed the injuries the victim sustained are not life-threatening at this time.
Irishtown Gardaí are appealing for information from anyone who was in the surrounding area at approximately 7pm on Friday evening.
