DUBLIN can be a special place on the lead up to Christmas – with pubs, bars and markets across the city really getting into the festive spirit.
Now, a brand new video by Dublin filmmakers Crooked Gentlemen has been launched to show off the Irish capital’s Christmassy charm.
The Ode to Dublin tribute video, featuring music by local band The Riptide Movement, features images from each and every corner of the city on the run up to the big day.
One shot features the famous Ha’penny Bridge over the Liffey, where hundreds of 'love locks' left by visiting couples hang from the railings.
A single padlock emblazoned with the words “Chloe and Carl, together forever” features among dozens of others.Other landmarks include Grafton Street lit under Christmas lights, where an elderly gentleman can be seen perusing shop windows.
A delightful lake set in the city centre’s St Stephen’s Green is also on show, featuring swans and other wildlife wandering in the cold December air.
The Riptide Movement’s Turn On The Lights provides an apt refrain as images glow of Christmas lights around the city. Finally, images from within Dublin’s world-famous bars, clubs and pubs show everyone getting into that quintessentially Christmassy mood.
With incredible culture, stunning scenery and a different view at every turn, this clip shows off just how amazing a capital city Ireland has.
