Nurse shaken after car hijacked following night shift at Belfast hospital

A WOMAN was left shaken after her car was hijacked close to a Belfast hospital.

The incident happened at around 7.55am on Saturday near to the Mater Hospital on the Crumlin Road in North Belfast.

According to BBC NI, the woman was a nurse who had just finished her shift at the hospital.

The PSNI said the woman was sitting in her Red Mini Cooper when a man wearing a grey hooded top and grey bottoms approached her.

He ordered her out of the car before driving off in the direction of Annesley Street.

“The woman, while physically uninjured, has understandably been left shaken,” said Detective Sergeant Wilson of the PSNI.

“This happened just before 8am, when people would have been out and about going about their business, and I am appealing to anyone with information or who may have captured dash cam footage to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 494 of July 31, 2021.”
