Northern Irish man killed in London laid to rest in hometown

THE FUNERAL has taken place of a Northern Irish man who was killed in a road accident in London last week.

Christopher Mackin from Rostrevor, Co. Down, died after being knocked down as he crossed a road in the city on April 14.

He was in his 20’s.

Thanks to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, his body was flown home to be laid to rest by his family and friends.

His funeral mass was held yesterday afternoon at St Mary’s Star Of The Sea Church in his hometown of Rostrevor.

His GAA club, St Bronagh’s, formed a guard of honour after the mass as Christopher was laid to rest in Kilbroney Cemetery.

Mr Mackin is survived by his parents Martina and Paul, brother Shane and sister Laura.
