Neighbours catch serial "poo jogger" in the act using night vision camera

A GROUP of residents who found themselves under siege from a serial “poo jogger” have gained sweet revenge after catching the culprit on camera in the act and uploading the image to Facebook.

For more than a year, residents of an apartment block in Brisbane, Australia, were terrorised by a mysterious turd merchant who repeatedly defecated on their property.

The unidentified male had made a habit of running past the apartment block three times a week before ducking down a privately-owned path to perform ; frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>">a Paula Radcliffe in the early morning hours.

This wasn’t an occasional habit either – he’s estimated to have done the dirty deed at least 30 times in the last 12 months alone, according to a report from news.com.au.

Eventually, local residents decided enough was enough and teamed up to install a special night vision camera in the area. It didn’t take long before he was caught short.

"One of the neighbours set up a night camera and got a few images and so we had a time he was doing it, so then I decided to go and wait with a camera... I was there a few mornings and then last Friday I got him," a local resident by the name of Steve, who took the photo, told news.com.au.

"There’s a red light which goes on before the camera’s flash goes off and he saw that and looked at me as the photograph was taken.

"Then he just said, ‘Hello’. At that point I decided to just walk away."

The man was pictured with his pants down, squatting over the concrete path close to a brick wall. It has since been discovered that he lives in a well-maintained apartment nearby.

The image has been uploaded to Facebook and turned into a poster which has been distributed to local residents to prevent repeat crimes. The uploader has so far refused to share the culprit’s name but intends to do so if the defecating continues.

Bizarrely, it’s not the first time a story like this has made headlines abroad.

Back in February, NBC reported on a woman who had been arrested after defecating in the same cul-de-sac in America three times in one month.

Prior to that, the Washington Post reported on the news Colorado police were on the lookout for a woman dubbed the “mad pooper” who kept defecating outside a house in Colorado Springs.
