A STUNNING picture of Ireland, Britain and Scandinavia covered by a giant aurora has been tweeted by a NASA astronaut.
Terry W. Virts, from Columbia, Maryland, shared the image of the countries at night from the International Space Station.
He was able to capture the photo from his front row seat, detailing weather formations, snow-topped mountains and the Aurora Borealis, commonly referred to as the Northern Lights.
