Murder investigation launched into death of man in rural Ireland

A MURDER investigation has been launched into the death of a man in rural Ireland. 

Willie Lynch, 35, was found dead at a property in Kenry Court in Pallaskenry Co Limerick.

The body of Mr Lynch, who was a well-liked man from the area, was removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination was conducted by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster.

According to RTÉ, gardaí have now opened a murder investigation.

A 29-year-old man arrested in Pallaskenry yesterday evening remains in custody at Newcastlewest Garda Station.

Previously, friends paid tribute to Mr Lynch and remembered him as a 'gentleman,' and 'great friend.'

A fund to help with his funeral costs has now reached over €7,000 of it's €2,500 goal.
