MRS BROWN'S Boys star Brendan O'Carroll has shown his generous side again by donating $50,000 (£24,500) to the family of a pregnant mother who died in a car crash in Australia.
The Dublin comedian, who is known for his portrayal of Agnes Brown in the BBC sitcom, is touring Australia with the live version of Mrs Brown's Boys.
Speaking to hosts of The Project, a Channel 10 talk show, he said he was touched by the story of Sarah Paino, 24, who was killed when a 15-year-old crashed into her car in Hobart, Tasmania.
Ms Paino, who was 32 weeks pregnant, lost her life in the accident on January 22 - and her unborn son, named Caleb, was delivered in hospital shortly after her death.
Her 2-year-old son Jordan survived with minor injuries. Along with her two sons, Ms Paino left her devastated partner Daniel Stirling behind.
Mr O'Carroll, who spoke of bringing his show to Hobart where the young mother lost her life, announced live on air that he intended on donating $50,000 to the bereaved family.
"I was really touched by the piece you did on Daniel in Hobart," he told the hosts of The Project.
"We're very much a family so if it's okay with you guys, through Channel 10 we, as the Brown family, would like to donate $50,000 to them."
The kind gesture comes just weeks after Mr O'Carroll footed the bill for the funeral of a homeless Polish man who died in Ireland on Christmas Day.
