A BODY found in Scotland has been identified as that of missing Kerryman Shane O’Neill.
The 28-year-old, originally from Glencar, was last seen by a work colleague in Aberdeen on September 11.
His body was found in a woodland area six days later after uniformed officers with police dogs were deployed as part of an extensive search operation.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said last week: “We can confirm that a body which was recovered in a wooded area near Dyce, Aberdeen, on Tuesday, September 17, has been identified as missing 28-year-old Shane O'Neill.
“Investigations into the circumstances are at an early stage, but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
"Mr O'Neill's next of kin have been advised and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
