THE MINISTER for Health has cancelled his trip to Belgium and The Netherlands due to the growing trolley crisis in Irish hospitals.
Simon Harris took to Twitter to declare he would remain in Ireland to continue working on the lack of beds in hospitals.
The government minister was due to meet with ministers in both Belgium and The Netherlands to discuss pricing of medicinal drugs and their supply.
Mr Harris made a statement on his decision saying: "People across the health service are working extraordinarily hard to make progress in what is a difficult week. I am in regular contact with HSE. It would not feel right to me as Minister to travel for St Patrick’s Day so I have made decision not to do so"

Mr Harris' decision seemed to go down well with his followers, who praised his choice to remain working on the lack of hospital beds.
Fair play! Well done 👍
