Meghan Markle brands royal family ‘The Firm’ and accuses them of ‘perpetuating falsehoods’

MEGAN MARKLE has hit out at the Royal Family, branding them “The Firm” and accusing them of “perpetuating falsehoods” about her and Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex made the accusations in a second teaser trailer released ahead of the couple’s much-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The clip was released in the early hours of Thursday morning ahead of the interview’s broadcast on Sunday evening in the US.

Harry and Meghan are expected to offer an unprecedented glimpse at the inner workings of the Royal family and their reasons for moving to America.

In the clip, Markle is asked how she felt Buckingham Palace would respond to hearing her “speak her truth” in the interview.

"I don’t know how they could expect that, after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” she said.

"And, if that comes with risk of losing things, I mean, I ... there is a lot that has been lost already."

The trailer comes just a day after the Palace announced it would be investigation allegations of bullying made against Markle by two former members of staff.

According to a report in The Times, two personal assistants have accused Markle of driving them out of the palace with one claiming she was “destroyed” while the other broke down in tears prior to her exit.

The accusations included the claim several Kensington Palace staff were “humiliation” on several occasions by the Duchess.

A spokesperson for Markle has dismissed the claims as part of a “smear campaign” adding that the Duchess has been “the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.”

Other unnamed sources told The Guardian the allegations were deliberately designed to undermine the Oprah interview.

An unnamed spokesperson for the couple said that it is “no coincidence that distorted several-year-old accusations aimed at undermining the duchess” are resurfacing before Markle was planning to “speak openly and honestly about their experience of recent years”.

The new trailer comes hot on the heels of a previous clip in which Prince Harry told Oprah the past year had been “unbelievably tough” for the couple.
