A DUBLIN animal charity is looking for a new home for a rabbit left abandoned in an Irish city.
Little John Paul was discovered alone in Dublin's Phoenix Park after his owner left him to fend for himself.
The cute bunny – who has aptly been named after Pope John Paul II who performed an open-air Mass for over a million Irish people in the famous Dublin park in 1979 – was found near to the park’s famous Papal Cross.
Thankfully Dublin SPCA were on hand to pick John Paul up and ensure that he was safe.
Now the animal charity is hoping to find a new home for John Paul where he will be cared for and loved.
The DSPCA say they will neuter the affable bunny before he moves in with a new family.
The charity say John Paul is a friendly little lad who would make a great pet for anyone with a bit of love to share.
DSPCA staff took to Facebook to post photos of John Paul, who looks remarkably well given his recent escapade.
“My name is John Paul and I deserve to be loved,” read the photo’s caption.
"Today I was left abandoned to fend for myself in my hutch in a car park by the Papal Cross in the Phoenix Park Dublin. Clearly my owner doesn't want me anymore so I am looking for a new home.
"I am a male rabbit, I am friendly and will be soon neutered."
