NETFLIX HAS unveiled the first teaser trailer for Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman.
A film that’s been some three years in the making, the new teaser doesn’t reveal much in the way of details for the film ahead.
It does, however, confirm The Irishman’s impressive cast which includes Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel and Joe Pesci.
It also confirms that The Irishman will arrive on Netflix later this year – this Autumn, to be precise – following an extended period of development at the streaming giant.
The most expensive Netflix film ever produced, The Irishman is a film adaptation of Charles Brandt’s 2005 non-fiction novel I Heard You Paint Houses.
I Heard You Paint Houses details the exploits of corrupt teamster union boss Jimmy Hoffa and hitman Frank Sheeran, an Irish-American gangster widely suspected of murdering Hoffa and disposing of his body.
Hoffa disappeared in July 1975, aged 62.
Made with a production budget as high as $200 million, The Irishman is also the most expensive project of Scorsese's career and has been four years in the making.
It is expected to arrive, initially in cinemas, this October.
