Man who walked around naked at Dublin shopping centre charged with public order offences

A MAN arrested after he stripped naked and walked around outside a busy shopping centre in Dublin has been charged and will appear in court later this month.

The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested without any clothes on at Laurel Lodge shopping centre in Blanchardstown on Saturday afternoon.

Gardaí were called to the scene after shoppers complained that a man was roaming the streets around the shopping centre with his trousers under his arm.

A number of images and videos taken by passers-by show the man wandering through the streets and leaving little to the imagination.

At one point, the man stops on the side of the street and throws his trousers on the ground while appearing to urinate on a lawn at the side of the road.

It's understood that he was intoxicated at the time.

Gardaí arrested the man at 2.30pm under Section 4 Public Order Act and brought him to Blanchardstown Garda Station.

A Garda spokesman said he has now been charged and released on bail.
