A MAN lost his life last night to a shooting.
In the country's capital, a man was shot in the leg in the area of Ballymun, Co. Dublin.
According to reports, the man was in his 40s after 9 pm on Saturday night.
The victim was brought to the Mater Hospital for treatment of his injuries but it is believed his injuries are not critical.
An investigation into the crime has been launched and the scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a forensic examination.
