A YOUNG FATHER was killed in front of his children this evening, it has emerged.
The man, thought to be in his 20s, was shot in the living room of his home in Glenbawn Avenue in Belfast.
The shooting is said to have occurred at 8 pm this evening, where the gunman shot the victim at point blank range.
Speaking to Belfast Telegraph, MP Paul Maskey condemned the attack, which was witnessed by the victim's children: "It is a brutal attack that was carried out in front of young children.
Maskey said the area of west Belfast were disgusted with the attack: "This has to be condemned outright. There is no call for this, it is shocking, it is horrifying. The community is horrified."
He said incidents like these had to cease and he was thinking of the deceased's grieving relatives: "This action has to be stopped and stopped immediately...My thoughts are with the man's family."
