A MAN has been seriously injured following an attack involving a group of people in Charleville, Co Cork.
The man, who is in his late 20s, was attacked on Bakers Road in brought daylight just after 5pm on Friday, May 7.
According to Gardai, the man "sustained a number of lacerations in the course of an altercation involving a group of people".
He was rushed to hospital in an ambulance following the attack.
The man is now being treated for his injuries at University Hospital Limerick.
Garda officers have been deployed to the local scene to further investigate.
No arrests have yet been made but enquiries are said to be ongoing.
In the mean tine, Gardai have issued an appeal for any witnesses with information related to the incident to come forward as soon as possible.
They are especially eager to hear from anyone with camera footage and particular dash cam footage from the Bakers Road area at the time of the incident.
Anyone with video footage of this kind is being implored to make it available to Gardai as soon as possible.
