A SECURITY ALERT was set off in Derry during the week.
Earlier this week, homes were evacuated and PSNI Ammunition Technical Officers were called to a scene just off Rossdowney Road in the Waterside area of Derry city.
DUP MLA Gary Middleton tweeted this image of the PSNI bomb disposal officers at the scene where factory workers have been told not to leave the premises while nearby homes have been evacuated.

Following the alert, police confirmed that two viable pipe bombs were found in Derry City and taken in by professionals to be technically examined.
According to Belfast Telegraph, a 39-year-old man has been charged with the possession of explosives.
The man is due to appear in court this weekend.
