A 38-year-old had a broken leg following the attack.
The assault happened at Rathgill Park in Bangor, County Down on Saturday before midday.
The victim was brought to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Detectives from PSNI are appealing for witnesses that were around the area around 12pm.
The two men, one blonde and one brunette, are said to be in their mid to late 30s.
